Americana artists gathered Saturday evening (Jan. 7) at Nashville’s City Winery for the fundraising concert Hello From the Hills, which supported a range of nonprofit organizations dedicated to addiction and substance abuse recovery, restorative justice work, and residential recovery/transitional living.

Held by The Hello in There Foundation (which launched in 2021 to remember singer-songwriter John Prine and aims to support people who are marginalized or discriminated against) and Tyler Childers’ Hope in the Hills, the show featured performances from artists including Childers, Jason Isbell, Sierra Ferrell, Amythyst Kiah, and Margo Price with Jeremy Ivey.

Ultimately, Oh Boy Records has always been - and always will be - all about the song; creating a space for songwriters and storytelling to flourish. 

“We don’t ever intend to make ourselves rich doing this, but we want the label to survive and thrive so it can go on to support musicians making meaningful art”, Fiona concluded. “We’ve seen how much John’s music has impacted people over generations and want to keep that going with him and all of our other artists for generations to come.”

The second installment of Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows comes a full 11 years after the first with a much more stringent folk/country approach. In the wake of his passing last April from complications due to COVID-19, this second go-around was put together by some of Prine’s most prolific devotees.
