Oh Boy's First Trio: Palmyra

Oh Boy's First Trio: Palmyra

Established in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, Palmyra showcases the talents of Sasha Landon, Teddy Chipouras, and Manoa Bell. Through their unique blend of traditional folk string instruments, lush harmony, and earnest songwriting, they earned a spot on NPR's “Best New Artists of 2024”. Their sound, often described as a distant cousin to The Avett Brothers and the Wood Brothers, nods toward Appalachian and Midwestern Americana, with intricate arrangements that create the illusion of a full, larger-than-three ensemble.

“We’re so excited to welcome Palmyra to Oh Boy! The energy and vitality of their performances grab you right away, but what really stays with you is the depth of their songwriting -  songs that tackle the struggle to make sense of yourself and the world around you. I think they’ve been able to resonate with audiences so deeply because of the honesty and vulnerability in their songs. This is music that is much needed in the world.” - Jody Whelan, Managing Partner, Oh Boy.

"Since its inception with John, Oh Boy has always championed honest, intentional, damn good songwriting, and we are honored that they're holding us in that same reverence as the folks we look up to - Arlo, Dan, Kelsey, Swamp Dogg, Tre, Emily, and of course, John. What a gift." - Palmyra

Belladonna is available now with new music coming in 2025!

You Got Gold Raises $300K For Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief

You Got Gold Raises $300K For Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief

You Got Gold 2024 raised $300,000 to support disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

A portion of the funds will directly benefit individuals who have experienced significant loss due to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, including low-income families with children and hospitality workers who have lost wages in the Gulfport, Florida area, where the Prine family has maintained a home for decades.

Additional organizational grants will be made to local and regionally-based organizations doing on-the-ground work in the Southeast, particularly in the hardest hit areas of east Tennessee, western North Carolina and the Gulfport area of Florida, to assist those most impacted by the storm. 100% of net proceeds from You Got Gold, including ticket and merch sales along with all donations, will benefit disaster relief. The foundation will continue actively directing funds toward these efforts through the end of the year, and donations can be made by visiting thehellointherefoundation.org.

“We are continually floored by the generosity of John’s fans. For the past three years, this community has gathered together to celebrate John’s music and legacy and this year was no different. We are so grateful for the continued support and contributions made on behalf of John, and we are so fortunate to be able to help so many people in need through the great work of the Hello In There Foundation.” - Fiona Prine

Kelsey Waldon Announces New Album - There's Always A Song - "Hello Stranger" Out Now!

Kelsey Waldon Announces New Album - There's Always A Song - "Hello Stranger" Out Now!

Kelsey Waldon has just announced her newest album, There's Always A Song, with the release date set for May 10, 2024. "I have been inspired by all kinds of music spanning many genres, but there is something about old time songs & bluegrass music that resonates so deeply within me", Waldon wrote in her announcement.

"Hello Stranger" feat S.G. Goodman takes its place as the lead single and is out now everywhere.

Across four acclaimed full-length albums full of both “heavy twang and spitfire pedal steel” and “coffeehouse confessionals” (Rolling Stone), she’s brought listeners into her world and shared her own experiences and perspectives. Her new project, There’s Always a Song, however, is about the "singular voices" that shaped her into the artist she is today.

“It’s like, I kind of was able to find my voice through these voices, you know?” Waldon says. “A part of me doing this album is expressing so much gratitude for the music that I love, for music that has meant a lot to me and helped me.”

“These songs are deep. They were here long before me, and they will be here long after I’m gone, after any of us are here. They will survive the test of time,” Waldon says. “It’s like they live in some kind of universe that just survives forever. These songs know the secrets to life.”

Oh Boy Records is Pleased to Announce our Newest Signing: Mick Flannery

Oh Boy Records is Pleased to Announce our Newest Signing: Mick Flannery

https://ohboy.com/collections/mick-flannery

Oh Boy Records continues to be the home label for singer songwriters who are dedicated to their craft. The body of work created by my husband, John Prine, remains our North Star when making decisions about the artists we bring onto our label.

Mick Flannery is arguably one of the best songwriters to emerge from Ireland’s long and storied history of writers, poets and musicians.

I couldn’t be more delighted to welcome Mick, as the first international signing, to our Oh Boy Records family.

John was proud to be part of the music community on Ireland’s western coast and I know he would be proud of this new partnership with Mick and his team.

New Album From Tré Burt - Traffic Fiction - "Santiago" Out Now Everywhere!

New Album From Tré Burt - Traffic Fiction - "Santiago" Out Now Everywhere!
Traffic Fiction, the highly anticipated new album from Tré Burt is announced today, with the first single "Santiago", out everywhere.

"The demo versions of these songs and the way I wanted them to sound were already pretty spelled out with me playing all the instruments on them (of questionable quality) so, scared shitless, it dawned on me that to get this sound across I had to take the seat of co-produce for the first time and record this album with someone I could easily communicate ideas with, meet the songs where they're at and then elevate them to a higher level and that happened to be my good friend and neighbor Andrija Tokic. The result is Traffic Fiction." - Tré Burt
